| Advanced Technologies for Enhanced Quality of Life AT-EQUAL |
Two converging phenomena set to dramatically transform the society in the next decades are converging.World population is aging and, at the same time, we face an unprecedentedd accelerated development of advanced technologies, from assistive robotics to breakthrough genetic therapies, which are revolutionizing healthcare, promising assistance to elders and cures for previously incurable diseases.
I founded the AT-EQUAL conferences series to foster interdisciplinary scientific exchange, bringing together engineers/technologists and medical doctors/life scientists to share latest knowledge and techniques. There were several reasons why I have chosen Iasi, my hometown in Romania, as host for this series. I see the future of this city exactly as a center for education and development of such advanced technologies oriented towards life and quality of life.
